About Wye Valley Canine Hydrotherapy

Wye Valley Canine Hydrotherapy Referral Clinic opened in February 2006 as a referral centre for animals that would benefit from stress-free supportive exercise. Our aim is to assess all patients individually depending on the reason for their referral and adapt a programme that suits their needs. We hope to provide a comfortable and caring environment for both animal and owner.

EMERGENCY PROCEDURE:

Wye Valley was established by the partners at Chaseview Veterinary Clinic and is situated alongside the practice. All of our hydrotherapists are competent at first aid and have received their Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) veterinary nursing training. They have also completed the Hawksmoor accredited training course and continue to attend the required courses to advance their knowledge of hydrotherapy. In case of an emergency situation within the pool we have access to equipment within the veterinary clinic and an on call veterinary surgeon at all times. All members of the public will receive a full health and safety briefing at the introductory session.

CANINE HYDROTHERAPY ASSOCIATION (CHA):

Wye Valley is overseen by the CHA; an association that aims to raise the standard and consistency of hydrotherapy throughout Britain. It also enforces quality standards to all its members. With an increasing number of unregulated hydrotherapy centres being opened, Wye Valley is proud to adhere to the necessary high standards and to be annually inspected. The regulations require that all animals are referred to us by veterinary practices and with a relevant clinical history. The CHA stipulates that the water quality is safe from harmful micro-organisms and that water chemical levels are checked regularly throughout the working day to reduce adverse effects to dogs, owners and staff. All equipment is serviced annually and also checked for damage before each use.

LOCATION:

Wye Valley is situated just outside Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire on the A40 towards Gloucester. We have easy access to the motorway network and are central to Hereford, Worcester, Cardiff and Gloucester. We have suitable parking, disabled access, toilet facilities and a waiting area.
